How to make pasta arts and crafts jewellery

See the video made by the William Morris Gallery on how to make a craft that you can give to your mother or carer. A gift of love.

It’s inspired by the Arts and Craft jeweller and enamellist May Partridge. She painted tender mini portraits. An enamel plaque can be found on the first floor of the William Morris Gallery. A painted pendant of a mother and baby. Little is known about May Partridge, you can find out more here on the William Morris Gallery site and on the Victoria and Albert museum site too.

What I love about this craft is that doesn’t have to cost that much to make and all the materials are accessible to collect in this lockdown. The activity can be made by children old enough to thread with help. The design is based on your skill, imagination and time. The video demonstrates an easy way to colour and thread the pasta for children 2 years and up. I have an example of setting a child’s drawing/portrait on the pendant/locket. Enjoy.

Please share your pendants and jewellery on my instagram page with #ScribbleAtHome.

If you’d like to make this activity at home see the PDF.
