Doing It Ourselves: Imagining Better Childcare

Free art activities by Scribble and Smudge for children (aged 0+) and accompanying adults on Tuesday 30 July. Drop in from 10 am – 2:30 pm. We will making little bugs, like Cecil the caterpillar and other activities with members from the first Neighbourhood cooperative sharing stories of how they set up this local nursery. Come long join in and have fun.

Exhibition at The Mill Community Centre from 23 July – 19 September 2019

In the late 1970s, a group of parents and toddlers came together to create a unique parent-led co-operative nursery in Walthamstow. Discover the inspiring story of the First Neighbourhood Co-operative Nursery, told through oral history, photography, film and archive documents.  

Join us on Saturday 14 September 1:30 – 4:30 pm for activites and discussion around childcare, past and present.
