We offer arts projects for families, children and community groups. We develop family learning through participating in one off events and projects. Our projects are inclusive for families with children of all backgrounds and abilities.We believe in families enjoying participating and creating together – encouraging play and creative thinking. Scribble and Smudge projects include collaborations with other artists, experts and professionals to bring variety to the programme. We can provide children’s parties, workshops for your organisation, curriculum based workshops for your school, bespoke events for your children’s centre or festivals. Families, community groups, adults, children with learning difficulties and the elderly. We are based in Walthamstow NE London and can take on projects across London.

Who we are
Lesley Palmer, Director of Scribble and Smudge, has worked in the community arts for 6 years. She has assisted on a variety of under 5’s projects at Tate Britain, working on a community programme for workers and users with mental health, working with homeless people and families in the South Westminster Sure Start area. Winner in 2005 of the Sure Start Partners in Excellence Award, which recognises and celebrates excellence and innovation in the delivery of Early Years and family support services. She is also a volunteer at Walthamstow Toy Library and has won an Awards For All grant and an Apex Arts grant to fund the Scribble and Smudge programme. Carolyn Sharma has worked and volunteered in the arts education sector, beginning in Canada as a children’s entertainer at birthday parties and at corporate events. Whilst studying at Central Saint Martins she became involved with Arts Out. After the birth of her children, she volunteered at a local nursery and a number of primary schools, conducting art workshops to suit the various age groups. Carolyn has been involved with Scribble and Smudge managing, accounting, and producing the workshops for the Walthamstow Young Person’s Caribbean Carnival in 2008.
